Sterling Playmakers presents Bye Bye Birdie. This spoof of Elvis Presley’s being drafted into the Army takes place in Sweet Apple, Ohio. Famous 50’s rock star, Conrad Birdie, will do his farewell performance and kiss a randomly-chosen teenager, Kim MacAfee, on a live location TV broadcast of”The Ed Sullivan Show.” Meanwhile, struggling songwriter/agent Albert Peterson has written what he hopes will be a big hit, “One Last Kiss.” Then he can retire from show biz, become an English teacher, and marry his long-time secretary, Rose Alvarez.
The show is full of lively dances, songs and many, many laughs! Favorite songs include “Put on a Happy Face”, “Telephone Hour”, “Kids”, “Ed Sullivan”, “One Boy”, “How Lovely to Be a Woman” and of course “We Love You Conrad!”
Return with us to the 1950’s era of poodle skirts, bobby sox, saddle shoes, and of course, the beginning of Rock and Roll!
The ASL interpreted performance takes place on Friday, August 9th. All performances will be held at:
Potomac Falls High School
46400 Algonkian Parkway
