NVAD Presents Holocaust and Deaf Victims Lecture

holoIf you are interested in studying Nazi Germany and the Holocaust, Northern Virginia Association of the Deaf presents a free lecture about the Holocaust’s impact on deaf people.  The event takes place on November 16, 2013.  Lecture is free and starts at 7 pm, with refreshments for sale starting at 5 pm. Location: Northern Virginia Resource Center (NVRC), 3151 Pender Drive, Suite 130, Fairfax 22030.

The presenter is noted Deaf scholar Dr. Irene Leigh of Gallaudet University. Only recently has there begun to be public discussion of this issue, so take advantage of what may be a rare learning experience and come to Dr. Leigh’s lecture!

There will be a voice interpreter for those who do not understand sign language; everyone is welcome to attend. NVRC is only a five or ten minute drive from GMU, and the Northern Virginia Association of the Deaf will be selling food before the event.
