DAWN’s mission is to promote healthy relationships and end abuse in the Deaf community of the Washington, DC area. We do this by providing survivors of abuse with help they need to heal and progress with their lives, and educating Deaf and hearing communities on the issues and how to foster positive relationships.

DAWN’s upcoming event, Signin’ in the Rain, is a fund-raising event. Put your galoshes on and come to DAWN’s 5th annual BOOTS (Breaking Out Of The Silence) fundraiser on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 1pm-5pm.

We are thrilled to announce that Marilyn J. Smith will be the amazing keynote speaker for the 5th annual BOOTS event! Marilyn is one of the most important supporters and activists of the anti-violence movement in Deaf America. She is the founder and former Executive Director of the Abused Deaf Women’s Advocacy Services (ADWAS) in Seattle, Washington.
