Department of Labor Seeks ASL Interpreter in DC

The Department of Labor is seeking ASL interpreter candidates. Duties include simultaneously and consecutively interpreting/transliterating, with equal facility from American Sign Language (ASL), Pidgin Signed English (PSE), and Manually Coded English (MCE) to English and from English to the aforementioned signed languages; and translates written assignments that vary in length, writing style, and subject matter. This includes identifying and clarifying any unfamiliar words, and consulting with the deaf individual to clarify unclear or unfamiliar ideas, words, or acronyms.
