Eleven Year Old Deaf Boy Honored by Jackie Robinson’s Daughter

Sometimes, a student can also be a teacher and lessons can be learned anytime you’re around 11-year-old Garrett Dempsey of Park Hills, Missouri. Garrett, who was born deaf, finished in the top 10 out of 16,000 entrants nationwide in the Breaking Barriers essay contest. He was honored at his school by Sharon Robinson, daughter of baseball great Jackie.
