Dr. Philip Zazove is an author, physician and chair of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan. He is one of the first deaf physicians in the United States and is dedicated to improving health care for the deaf and hard of hearing community.
After his diagnosis of being profoundly deaf at age 4, Zazove’s parents were told he would be lucky to be a janitor. His parents, both physicians, placed him in a public school where he excelled.
