Michigan High School Teacher Creates ASL Music Videos to Educate Her Community

Brittany Adams, an ASL teacher at Romeo High School in Michigan, has been creating ASL versions of popular music videos. Her videos are a hit, with Adams covering popular songs like Rather Be by Clean Bandit and Shake It Off by Taylor Swift. Her Shake It Off ASL cover has been viewed more than 6,000 times on YouTube.

The reason why she spends so much time on these productions? “The ASL awareness, being aware of the deaf community and the beautiful language that they’ve offered myself and my students and everyone around us,” said Brittany.
