Participants will:

Define transliterating
Describe the similarities and differences between interpreting and transliterating
List and describe the 5 building blocks of transliterating:  English on the hands, English on the mouth, ASL non-manuals, ASL features and paraphrasing
Describe when it’s appropriate to use additions, restructuring, deletions, and flagging
Describe and demonstrate appropriate mouth movements while transliterating
Describe and demonstrate 5 ways space in incorporated while transliterating:  referents, CA/CD, eye gaze, verb-object agreement, listing/comparisons, prosody
